In 1997 Martin builds his first guitar, in the context of the socio-cultural extracurricular program at Edouard-Montpetit College.
He continues to cultivate this growing passion in parallel with studying Jazz guitar, after which he decides to complete the luthier professional college program in the very workshop that saw him evolved for a total of five years.
Building and selling guitars as a self-employed artisan since 2002, he participates in a few events, notably the Montreal Guitar show since its inception in 2007, where he has been challenged and inspired by international level guitar making. This is where he will meet Mario Beauregard, whit whom he will have the chance to work for more than two years as an assistant, which will instill deep changes in his evolution as a luthier.
His work continues to be highly influenced by the example and teachings of Mario Beauregard, whom he considers his mentor. This influence is undeniable when one examines his guitars.
Martin ceaselessly tries to improve the tone, mechanics and aesthetics of his instruments. In this constant drive to better his art rests the basis of his ambition as a luthier.
His clientele includes a selection of internationally renowned artists.
